The marketplace has about 30,000 monthly users. I rebuilt the home page, listing search and listing creation, then set up AI-assisted code review for the mobile, frontend and backend teams.
Crash-free sessions went from under 98% to around 99.5%, builds got twice as fast, and the app lost half its size without losing a feature. The stack was two years behind when I arrived, so Compose, Hilt, KSP and modularization came in one at a time. Running bug bashes took development issues down about 20%.

Half a million people used the app each month, and it stayed above 99% crash-free. I led a core team of three through a rebuild of the video editing flow, and got processing twice as fast.
Most of what I left behind was written down: the standards for feature flags, navigation, pagination, and the multi-module Hilt and Compose setup. Lomotif has since wound down.

Better HR

For the first stretch I was the only Android engineer, building two apps from nothing on a multi-module clean architecture. Dagger, RxJava, Apollo for GraphQL, Firebase, and Kotlin by the end. I integrated the app with custom kiosk devices.
By the time I left I was leading seven mobile engineers over four apps. I hired and grew the Android team, started a design system, and spent a regular part of each week on their career growth.
